Seniors are campers entering the 8th through 10th grades and are the oldest campers in camp. And, as everyone knows, seniority has its privileges!
Seniors enjoy a later curfew, they have lazy days, paint parties, senior canteen social time, and they even have “seniors only” evening activities! And let’s not forget senior trips! Everyone knows, it's a lot of FUN to be a senior!
The Senior Division is the largest in camp. We have more teens at Camp Lohikan than any other age group. And our camper population is diverse. We have kids from 26 different states and 19 countries! It's an awesome social experience!
Camp Lohikan's senior program is perfect for teenagers. The daily program is the ultimate in elective programs. Campers get to choose all of their daily activities! That includes more than 65 arts, sports, and adventure activities! And your choices are guaranteed!
To top off each day we operate an awesome evening activity! A different evening activity is featured every night of the summer! And they're really fun! Evening Activities include: Senior Socials (every week!), Coed Karaoke, Senior Survivor, the Dating Game, Game Show Night, Movies, DJ Disco and lots more!
We also schedule Special Events every week like the County Fair Trip, the Amusement Park Trips, Senior Beach Parties, Camp Carnival, Senior BBQ's, Senior Paint Parties, Cabin Points Trips and more!
And every night's a party at the canteen! Senior canteen is a free-time social period scheduled after the conclusion of the evening activity. It's a special time for seniors to get together at the game room and enjoy snacks, arcade video games (coin-free), music and fun. It's a party just for seniors!
What's really special about Lohikan's teen program is that it doesn't end when a camper turns 15 years old!
Teenagers entering their junior and senior year in high school have the opportunity to continue their camp experiences by participating in Camp Lohikan's Junior Staff Program. This program provides 16-17 year olds with hands-on training in child care and counseling, instructor skills, and leadership. Junior staff participants attend training sessions dedicated to these subjects as well as sessions addressing the college application process and its relevance to the junior staff program. Opportunities for community service also exist in the program. In addition, junior staff members can earn ARC Lifeguard Certification while participating in the junior staff program. And the best news is that individuals who successfully complete the two year junior staff program are guaranteed a counselor staff position at camp the following summer! It’s GREAT to be a senior at Camp Lohikan!
