Camp Mission

Camp Lohikan is a warm, welcoming community of children and adults who come together summer after summer to experience the FUN and personal growth of "camp". Our mission is to provide children with a safe camp environment and staff it with caring adults who are committed to their positive growth and development. Our goal is to provide an environment of support and encouragement where children will try new things and grow outside their comfort zone. Lohikan's program is designed to provide a wide variety of learning opportunities for children to develop their artistic and athletic talents as well as their social skills.

ABOUT CAMP SLIDE SHOW

Our ultimate goal is to provide a camp experience where the child will return home with new friends, new skills, increased self esteem and greater independence. Our intention is to make Camp Lohikan a positive growth experience that will last a lifetime.

Camper Population

Campers come from all over to attend Lohikan. Last summer we had campers travel from 25 states and 19 different countries to attend camp. The majority of our campers come from New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Connecticut, Washington DC area and Florida. Lohikan is a nonsectarian camp with a very diverse population.

Most of our campers are returning but new campers are guaranteed to be assigned to a cabin where there is never less than 3 new campers. First-time campers join us every summer regardless of age. While many new campers start camp when they are young, we do have a number of campers join us in our intermediate and senior divisions.

Our camper population is divided into three girls and boys divisions. Juniors are campers entering fifth grade and younger. Intermediates are campers entering the sixth and seventh grades. Seniors are campers entering the eigth grade and older. Each girls and boys division is composed of 80 to 90 campers for a total camp population of approximately 450-500 campers.
