Travel directions to Camp Lohikan
and Lake Como, Pennsylvania

Please note:  The directions provided by MapQuest ®, GPS systems and navigational systems usually provide inaccurate directions to Camp Lohikan.  We strongly recommend using the directions printed below instead. 

 

Metropolitan New York

  1. Take the New York Thruway (Route 87) to Exit 16, "Harriman".
  2. At Exit 16, take Route 17 West toward Binghamton to the Hancock, NY Exit. (It will take about 1 3/4 hours). Get off at exit 87A.
  3. After exiting 87A you will come to a stop sign.  At the stop sign make a left and proceed through the village of Hancock.
  4. After 1.5 miles there will be a traffic light.  Continue through the light and  proceed about 4/10 mile to the second left.
  5. Bear left and you will come to railroad crossing to the Delaware River.  Cross the bridge and proceed 1.1 miles on Route 191 South, then make a right hand turn onto Route 370 West.  Lydia's Tavern is on the corner.
  6. Take Route 370 West for 6.2 miles, then make a left turn onto Route 247 South.
  7. Take Route 247 South for 2.75 miles to the village of Lake Como.  You'll come to a 4-way intersection.  The Lake Como Post Office is on your right, on the far right is Jericho Dairy Bar and an old lumber mill is on the far left.  Make a left turn at this intersection onto Rose Hill Road. 
  8. After leaving the intersection continue 1/4 mile on Rose Hill Road. Make the first right turn onto Wallerville Road. This turn is marked with a Camp Lohikan sign. Continue on Wallerville Road for 2 miles and Camp Lohikan will be located on your left. The office is located in the first building on your left at the top of the hill.

 

New Jersey and Alternate New York

  1. Take the GWB or the Lincoln Tunnel to Route 80 West in N.J.
  2. From Route 80 West take Exit 34-B to Route 15 North towards Sparta, N.J.
  3. Continue on Route 15 which eventually becomes Route 206.
  4. Take Route 206 over the Delaware River Bridge to the town of Milford, PA.
  5. Take Route 6 West out of Milford and travel approximately 35 miles to Honesdale, PA.
  6. Continue through the town of Honesdale and follow signs to Routes 670 and 191 North. Route 6 makes a left turn in Honesdale at the Wayne Hotel. Do not make this left turn. Continue through the traffic light to Route 670 North.
  7. About 1/4 mile after the traffic light, Routes 670 and 191 split. Bear left and take Route 670 North.
  8. After traveling approximately 10 miles on Route 670 North you will come to an intersection. On your right will be a tavern called the "Little Red School House". Make a right turn at the intersection.
  9. Follow Route 247 to the village of Lake Como. Follow signs for Camp Lohikan.
  10. In the village of Lake Como you will come to an intersection. On your immediate left is the Jericho Dairy Bar and on your right will be an old lumber mill. A Post Office stands at the far left corner of the intersection.  Make a right turn at the intersection onto Rose Hill Road.
  11. After leaving the intersection continue 1/4 mile on Rose Hill Road. Make the first right turn onto Wallerville Road. This turn is marked with a Camp Lohikan sign. Continue on Wallerville Road for 2 miles and Camp Lohikan will be located on your left. The office is located in the first building on your left at the top of the hill.

 

Connecticut - Route 84

  1. Take Route 84 West to Exit 30 (formerly Exit 8), Blooming Grove, PA.
  2. From Exit 30 (formerly Exit 8) make a right turn and take Route 402 North.
  3. At the end of Route 402 North make a left onto Route 6 West.
  4. Take Route 6 West through Hawley to the town of Honesdale.
  5. Continue through the town of Honesdale and follow signs to Routes 670 and 191 North. Route 6 makes a left turn in Honesdale at the Wayne Hotel. Do not make this left turn. Continue through the traffic light to Route 670 North.
  6. About 1/4 mile after the traffic light, Routes 670 and 191 split. Bear left and take Route 670 North.
  7. After traveling approximately 10 miles on Route 670 North you will come to an intersection. On your right will be a tavern called the "Little Red School House". Make a right turn at the intersection.
  8. Follow Route 247 to the village of Lake Como. Follow signs for Camp Lohikan.
  9. In the village of Lake Como you will come to an intersection. On your immediate left is the Jericho Dairy Bar and on your right will be an old lumber mill. A Post Office stands at the far left corner of the intersection.  Make a right turn at the intersection onto Rose Hill Road.
  10. After leaving the intersection continue 1/4 mile on Rose Hill Road. Make the first right turn onto Wallerville Road. This turn is marked with a Camp Lohikan sign. Continue on Wallerville Road for 2 miles and Camp Lohikan will be located on your left. The office is located in the first building on your left at the top of the hill.

 

Philadelphia

  1. Take the northeast extension of the PA Turnpike to Exit 115 (formerly Exit 37)(Dupont exit). From this exit follow signs to Route 81 North.  Continue on Route 81 North for approximately 10 miles.
  2. A few miles north of the Central Scranton Expressway Exit you'll see signs for Route 6 East-Carbondale (also known as the Casey Highway).  Follow these signs.  Route 81 will lead you to Route 6 East Carbondale-Casey Highway.  Merge onto Route 6 East.  Stay on Route 6 East-Casey Highway for approximately 19 miles until you come to a small town called Waymart.
  3. In Waymart, turn left at the traffic light onto Route 296 North.  Stay on Route 296 North for 5.7 miles then turn right onto Route 247 North.
  4. Stay on Route 247 North for 3.4 miles and you'll come to an intersection where you'll see the Red School Restaurant/Tavern on your right.  Continue through the intersection onto Route 247 North for 13 miles.  This will bring you into Lake Como. 
  5. In the village of Lake Como you will come to an intersection. On your immediate left is the Jericho Dairy Bar and on your right will be an old lumber mill. A Post Office stands at the far left corner of the intersection.  Make a right turn at the intersection onto Rose Hill Road.
  6. After leaving the intersection continue 1/4 mile on Rose Hill Road. Make the first right turn onto Wallerville Road. This turn is marked with a Camp Lohikan sign. Continue on Wallerville Road for 2 miles and Camp Lohikan will be located on your left. The office is located in the first building on your left at the top of the hill.

 

Washington D.C. - Virginia - Baltimore, Maryland

  1. From the Baltimore Beltway Route 695 take Route 83 North to Harrisburg, PA.
  2. At Harrisburg Exit from Route 83, take Route 81 North.  Continue on Route 81 North into Scranton.
  3.
